Quest'anno la Confederazione sostiene venti progetti nell'ambito del programma di incentivazione per lo sviluppo sostenibile. Uno dei temi prioritari del programma è l'alimentazione sostenibile. Tale finanziamento si inserisce nella strategia per uno sviluppo sostenibile del Consiglio federale e contribuisce all'attuazione dell'Agenda 2030 dell'ONU. Dal 2016, l'Ufficio federale dello sviluppo territoriale (ARE) e la Commissione federale della migrazione (CFM) finanziano congiuntamente il programma di incentivazione per lo sviluppo sostenibile.
I progetti finanziati si contraddistinguono per il loro approccio globale, che tiene conto delle esigenze economiche, ambientali e sociali e permette la partecipazione di ampie cerchie della popolazione.
